Nowadays, the possibility of sorting photos in separate folders is a basic feature, which is not enough when it comes to managing a photo album. If you want more control over your images, then you should look for a specialized photo manager. Sony Photo Go can sort all your pictures automatically, based on various criteria. Also, it places a few useful editing tools at your disposal, as well as the means to print your pictures, send them by email or order special prints.

The program can be installed quickly, without any effort. It is compatible with all modern Windows platforms and it does not use too much processing power, RAM or disk space. If you decide to install this program, you must have QuickTime 7.1 and DirectX 9.0 or later on your computer.

The user interface is laid out like an explorer window. Once you import one or more image folders, they will appear in a tree structure, along with their sub-folders. The images themselves are displayed as thumbnails, on the right side of the interface, where you can also view and edit their tags. Also, the pictures are grouped in color-coded boxes, based on their parent folders and you can set different view modes, if you wish to sort the pictures according to their dates or other characteristics. View modes are displayed in the same tree structure as the imported folders, so you can select them on the fly. What's more, the software allows you to define your own view modes, by selecting a series of characteristics or typing a few keywords on a separate window.

Sony Photo Go provides many useful options, which can be found on a toolbar or in the top menus. Besides viewing pictures or playing them in a slideshow, you can also edit them. If you hit the Edit option, while a picture is selected, the image will be enlarged and you will find a series of editing tools on the left side of the window. You can use them to adjust the picture's brightness and contrast, hue and saturation, apply a Sepia effect, remove red-eye effects, and more.

Other tools allow you to import images directly from a digital camera, print them or attach them to an email. It is also possible to order prints from specialized services, over the Internet. The aforementioned tasks can be carried out just by dragging and dropping one or more photos in a queue, on the right side of the interface.

Pros

The software includes many useful tools, which are well organized and easy to understand. It allows you to create custom view modes without any effort. You can also make a series of visual adjustments on your photos.

Cons

You have to provide a lot of information about yourself when you run the program for the first time, even if you opt for the trial version. Sorting photos with only a few clicks and editing them in a comfortable manner are just a few of Sony Photo Go's advantages.
